“People say sticks and stones may break your bones, but names can never hurt you, but that’s not true. Words can hurt. They hurt me. Things were said to me that I still haven’t forgotten.”– Demi Lovato
We all are very well acquainted with the terms like “fatty”, “skinny” , “black-bear” , etc. But without even realizing the impact we make at an individual’s mindset we have been continuously bullying people. Anyone and everyone is bullied.
There’s no law, cure, or punishment that can be given to a human being to make them stop being rude to each other. There are certain things that we just go through in life and at some point we just need to draw the line and say enough is enough. Keep people out of your life that are not good for you. If you have people around you who are not sensitive to who you are and keeps on passing judgmental comments on you, it is better to stay away from such people.
Bullying cannot exactly be stopped. But the change starts with you, me and all of us. We can choose to be aware of the words we speak so that others may not be mentally tormented with our words. And another thing that can be done is to accept that certain people cannot change and we need to distance ourselves from such insensitive people. If we don’t draw the line with people and just let them run rampant in our lives letting things happen to us that we don’t feel good about then the negativity will continue growing.
STAY AWAY from Toxic people.
Bullying starts and stops with you. Don’t let someone tear you down. Next time someone passes an insulting comment, simply get up without showing any sign of anger and say “Your ophthalmic window lets you visualize me in this manner but I feel sorry for you. ” We all are beautiful in our own way. There is one special trait in us which makes us more able than others. Keep repeating these words if you ever feel shunned – “I know myself, and they are wrong. They are wrong.”
“If they don’t like you for being yourself, be yourself even more.”– Taylor Swift
Even kids have started bullying each other in schools and this indicates that there is something very wrong in the manner our society is growing. Being bullied as a child is more harmful, emotionally, than being abused by an adult. Kids need to be taught that God has created everyone equal and there is no difference between fat-thin, dark-fair or tall-short. We need to teach them to be more acceptable because they are the future of this world.
It is important to be mindful of the words that we use to our friends our families our loved ones and strangers because sticks and stones can break our bones but words can break our hearts. And if we’re not careful it can shatter our dreams.
